Yesterday we met a doll from Aunt Kay. Today's pretty little gal with her pink parasol was made by Aunt Bobbe. Pat already had a doll named Christine, so she named this one Marti Sue!

One more for Kathy Raz
Many years ago Aunt Kay gave this little doll to Pat's mom. On the scroll she holds under her arm is the Irish blessing and a note from Aunt Kay that says, "Doesn't she look just like me?"

For cousin Kathy Raz and the other residents of Colorado
This moose is showing our support for you. With an IL elephant and a CO moose behind you, you just know you'll survive this disaster! (Never mind that we were both probably made in China.)

A new feature on my blog
Since I've been here, I've met lots of interesting dolls and critters. I thought you might like to see some of them. First, this is a genuine jackalope from South Dakota. His name is Korczak, named after the sculptor of the Crazy Horse sculpture. Pat says she found it more moving than Mount Rushmore, which she and Larry saw the same day, back in 2005. Another thing she remembers about that day was having tatanka (buffalo) stew for lunch !

An American Hero
So we were downtown, just the two of us. Suddenly Pat said, "Hey, wait a minute...", turned the car around, and pulled into the parking lot of the Murphy Fire Dept. She toted me inside, talked to a man for a minute, and we went back outside. Next thing I knew, she posed me with a giant Smokey Bear statue! You have to really zoom in to see me, but then you can't see him. This was the outing when Pat decided to carry a step stool for photo ops!

A posh frock
I borrowed this from the Pink Panther in the doll room. I just wanted to try it on, but he begged me to keep it! I told him I can't because Pat can only add one thing to my collection while I'm with her, and we already know what that's going to be. I can't wait until July to tell you, so we're going to have a reveal on Christmas in December !!!!!!!

Exploring new territory
Larry's room is completely different from Pat's 'cause he's a techno geek and a ham radio operator.
(Well, she's a ham, too, but in license only.) Anyway, I wandered into Larry's weird world and tried out his microphone. Didn't work too well since I can't talk ... yet.

Chewing his ear I am.
Oh, come on. Hasn't everyone wanted to bite Yoda's pointy ears? No? OK. Never mind.
I didn't mean to upset anyone. I hope you don't think I'm gross. I wasn't wearing my teeth anyway.

Poor little guy
This teddy bear wasn't feeling well, so I read him stories from ancient Little Golden Books. He's better today, but still wants to wear his bunny slippers instead of his bare bear feet.

Get your motor runnin'
After our trip up the mountain, Larry, Mary Ellen, Warren, and Pat stopped at a little diner for lunch. Then Pat came to get me out of the truck, saying, "Come on, Sally! Photo op!" Thus, I became a biker mama.

On top of the world!
For the last few days I haven't posted because we've been busy with company from Brookfield, IL
(No, not the zoo!) Yesterday was so cool because we went way up on a mountain called Wayah Bald! Larry drove and drove and drove on a narrow, winding road. We finally got to a fire tower at 5,342'. Up we climbed and met 2 men who stopped for lunch in the tower, taking a break from the Appalachian Trail. They posed with me, and then I posed by myself. It was so cool!!!!!!!!! To-morrow I'll post more pictures!

Just wondering ...
If I were queen, how should I wear my crown? Probably one would have to be custom made for me because of the ball I balance.
